Town Clerk Fees

Certified Documents:

• Birth, Marriage, Death: $10.00 fee and proof of identification is required
• Marriage License: $40.00 (With one Certified Copy: $50.00) 

Non-Certified Documents:

• Gardner Book Copies: $1.00 per page
• Other Copies: 05¢ per page
• Street Listing: $10.00 printed copy (specify if by street name of resident name.)
• General By-Laws: $10.00 or free to download on the website
• Zoning By-Laws: $25.00 or free to download on the website

Dog Licenses:

• Female or Male: $17.00
• Spayed or Neutered: $7.00
• Free to owners age  70 and over, late fines do apply

(A fine of $15.00 for each dog will be applied after May 31st of the year license is due.)

Business Licenses:

• DBA: $40.00 (4 years)
• Change to a DBA: $10.00

Reports in Electronic Format:

Excel spreadsheets on CD or via email have a one-week turnaround time. Postage and media fee for CDs is $5.00.

• Street List  fee $10.00
• Registered Voters no fee
• Head of Household no fee

Genealogy Research:

No charge for the first hour, larger projects will be estimated and charged at $15.00 per hour. To assist us with your search, please make requests via email. You can access the Genealogy tab on the left side of the Town Clerk's page to look at the list of Wales Vital Records Vol 1 and 2 and their indexes (1762-1915) and to read the Gardener Book information. The information is also available on a thumb drive for $15.00.
