To all members, it is that time of the year when we have to get a new sticker for our membership at the transfer station. The new sticker is due July 1 and you have the whole month of July to apply and pay for the new sticker. As of August 1, 2015, if you do not have a sticker, you cannot use the facility. The facility is open to Wales, Brimfield, Holland, residents. The cost of this membership is $75 per fiscal year for residents. This allows you to bring your recyclables in any containers you want. Single stream recycling is for cardboard, paper, bottles, cans. All other types of plastic and junk are considered extra trash. Ask the attendant where it goes and if there is a charge. You may bring all the leaves and brush up to 4 inches in diameter for free. Your household trash must be in Wales bags or if you choose to use a 30 gallon bag of your choice, you must place a trash sticker on the bag. The cost of Wales bags or trash stickers are two dollars each. All other types of debris are considered non-household. When there is a fee, please see the attendant.
We do allow local small contractors or businesses to use this facility if they purchase the yearly sticker. The cost of this commercial sticker is $150 per year and the contractors or business people must pay additional bulk fees.
Any members wishing to dump waste oil, paint, and other liquids will have to do so on the second Saturday of the month and the fourth Saturday of the month. This is the only time we will accept any type of liquid disposable fluids.
The Wales transfer station is open every Saturday 9 AM to 12 noon and on Wednesdays from 4 PM to 7 PM. The Wales transfer station is a very reasonable and economical way to dispose of your household trash and some bulk. A lot of cities and towns are having difficulty with the high cost of disposal for these goods and if you use a private contractor, you see increases all the time.
Thank you for your use and continued support of the transfer station.
