Building Department

The Building Department's mission is to provide public safety through the administration and enforcement of the State Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Gas Codes and the enforcement of the Zoning By-laws of the Town of Wales.   For general information on permit application requirements, please review BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION INFORMATION on the Building Department main web page. Wales does not offer an online permitting service. .All applications and documents are to be provided in HARD COPY TO: Town of Wales, 3 Hollow Rd, Attn: Building Department, Wales, MA 01081 or dropped in our secure drop box located at the rear entrance door of the building. Always include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope if your process requires documentation return.  Please note that the telephone numbers offered on this website are for scheduling inspections ONLY, if you have a question regarding an existing permit please email buildinginspector@townofwales.net or planning@townofwales.net for electrical, gas and plumbing permits.
