Welcome Message from the Chairman
As Wales moves towards its 250th anniversary, much is being reviewed and discussed regarding the history of the town. People with access to many old documents and pictures take the time to bring those who have not lived here as long up to speed on what used to be. For example, it is hard to imagine that Wales used to be home to some large and thriving mills. There was actually what would today be called a “block” of stores. Modernization of processes and technology caused all of that to move on, leaving Wales to be a quieter town today.
Yet even as we struggle with a smaller tax base, and in a tough economy, Wales is fortunate to be populated with good people. Spend a little time here and you sense the community spirit, the willingness to work with and help neighbors.
